My Policies:

Your child will bring home homework every night in their homework folder Monday through Thursday. Homework should take no longer than 1 hour. If your child is having trouble with an assignment just write a note at the top (or email me) and stop. I don't ever want a student to become frustrated and feel exhausted after doing homework.

Class Projects:
Sometimes the students will have research assignments that correspond to a topic we are studying in class. Students are given time in class to work on these projects. Although I believe in parent involvement in their child's education,  I frown upon assignments that are completed with parent help. My goal is to assign research projects that students can complete independently or with peer support. I find students take much more pride in the work they complete entirely on their own.

Independent Reading:
Students are expected to read at least 20 minutes each day and keep track of the time they read on their weekly reading log.  Please sign the reading log each night. I will check their reading logs every morning. Click on the link below if you need a copy of the reading log.
